Following on from the big March clear out and the creation of the new church office we’ve been doing even more to improve the back stage facilities here at Holy Nativity.
For such a busy and active church, we really struggle for storage, and thanks to the UKSPF grant and some help from community partners it’s been great to see progress on making everything more organised and easy to use.
Starting with the vestry – where all the items for worship were fighting for space with filing and important Admin, we replaced the broken wardrobes and old filing cabinets with new hanging space, storage and upgraded secure filing.
We also made new shelves to store all our marketing banners and clear some floor space!
Then, with some help from Together Housing we turned our attention to the back room which acts as storage for all our youth and scouts activities as well as the community pantry. Mountains of boxes and limited shelving has been transformed into a tidy and organised space where volunteers can find everything and where the pantry is easy for everyone to manage!
It’s been such a joy to see how our volunteers have been able to get on with the important work of serving the community and can now find everything they need quickly and easily. It’s amazing what a bit of extra organisation can do!
Next on our list is to start working on the displays and equipment in church to improve our welcome – watch this space for more updates.
