It’s been a busy first month for our development manager and a willing bunch of volunteers from the church and the local community!
We’ve already had a big clear out, and what was once a storage cupboard and cluttered staircase …
Is now a fully functioning church office !
It’s been hard work but we’ve had some fun along the way. We found loads of fascinating artifacts that tell the story of the past 70 years at Holy Nativity and we can’t wait to go through them as part of our anniversary celebrations. Michelle even discovered some family history among the archive of parish magazines – being a churchwarden runs in the family !
And don’t worry – nothing went to waste, lots of church history is now packed in boxes and waiting be sorted out as we plan for the next 70 years and anything we did throw out went to a good home!
We want to say a massive thank you to all the volunteer team who gave up time over three full weekends to get us to this stage. All of this is possible thanks to the funding we have received from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and an extra special thank you goes to Destiny Flooring who donated our lovely new office carpet.

I wish I could have come and helped, I love a good clear out. Sorting stuff makes my autistic brain happy. Shame I can’t do it for myself 🤣
