We are really excited to announce a community consultation event to gather input from residents, local organisations, and stakeholders on the redevelopment of our much-loved church building. The event will take place on Saturday 5th April from 10am to 3pm in church. Everyone in the community is invited to share their thoughts and ideas, about the future of the building.
Our goal with these plans is to improve the already welcoming space that serves as a hub for community activities, cultural events, and social gatherings, while also enhancing its significance as a place of worship where generations of Mixenden residents have celebrated the milestones of their lives.
The event will include:
- An overview of the redevelopment plans: Representatives from the church leadership and architects will present an initial vision for the redevelopment project, showcasing potential designs and uses for the space.
- Interactive activities: creative family activities, ask questions, and provide feedback on the proposed plans.
- A chance to influence the future: This event is an opportunity for local residents to have a direct say in shaping the future of the church building. Whether it’s suggestions on architectural features, new uses for the space, or community needs, all ideas are welcomed.
“70 years ago Mixenden decided it wanted its own community church, we were built for the community by the community and we want to continue to be that for the next 70 years at least and to ensure that, we need to ensure the building is looked after and ready for another 70 years of service. By bringing everyone together, we can ensure that the redevelopment aligns with the vision of our community and honours the rich history of this cherished space.”

Refreshments will be provided, and there will be a display of artwork from children at Ash Green as well as fun activites for all the family.
We can’t wait to see you there!
