Women Bishops!

Today is an historic day for the Church of England as it passed legislation for women bishops 18 months after the last vote failed.  Whilst there are female Anglican bishops in the world wide church this is a significant vote because it now means that all forms of ministry are open to both sexes here in England.  The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby said: Today is the completion of what was begun over 20 years with the ordination of women…

Pentecost

A morning of fun and excitement was had at Holy Nativity on Sunday 6th of June as the community came together to celebrate the feast of Pentecost. A fantastic morning was shared with friends from 30th Holy Nativity Scout Troup as fun songs were sung and prayers were offered together. The Stations of Salvation

On a slightly damp Wednesday in June a cohort of disciples from Holy Nativity Church Made their way to the Community of the Resurrection in Mirfield.  The monastic community have been living, worshiping, praying and working on the hill at Battyeford for over a century and it was a real privilege to be able to worship with them. The Big Night Out

Holy Nativity took a trip to The Big Night Out at Lightwater Valley.  One of the group has written about the afternoon. On Saturday 10th May, 13 teenagers set off to Light Water Valley with Robb, Ruth and Michelle on a coach with groups of other teenagers from other churches to participate in the big night out – a chance for young Christians to get together and have fun. Standing on Holy Ground @ The Rock Mass

In February The Rock Mass took us on a trip three and a half thousand years back to Moses and the burning bush.  With a sound track provided by Metanoia, playing songs like Forever Never’s version of “You’re The Voice”, we looked at what it means to stand on Holy Ground.
