During the summer Holy Nativity runs ‘Sparks’, a series of fun days for 5-11 year olds. Last year the church was transformed as 30 children came to sing, dance, play and have fun doing arts and crafts before having lunch. For £2 each week your child can spend four mornings doing all of this and get their lunch as well!!
One of the highlights of the summer last year was clay modelling. Whilst looking at Noah building a giant Ark little fingers shaped and moulded clay to form model animals ornaments. The following week tiny brushes applied vivid colours and transformed the uniform grey shapes into animals that now take pride of place in countless homes around Mixenden and Illingworth. Who knows what fun we will be having this year!!
Children must be aged between 5 and 11 years old to take part in the days. Each of the days will be four hours from 9am until 1pm. We will also feed them lunch before they are picked up! The dates are Wednesdays mornings on July 27th and August 3th, 17th and 24th. The cost for the activity days will be £2 per child per week which can be paid on the day itself. We hope you will be committed to all four weeks as places for children are limited.
If you know you are coming in advance, please let Church Warden, Sue O’Brien know as soon as possible so that we know how many to cater for and how many to buy materials for. All children must be registered and consent forms filled in by a legal guardian. Please drop your child off at Holy Nativity Church at 9am on the day and pick them up again at 12:50-1pm.
